contemplative Let's see if this will actually be the year.
-The year I get the blood sugar under control (with the unspoken addendum that weight loss will be the inevitable result).
-The year one of the bands I'm in actually breaks out and does something. I think I'm fed up enough that I've finally arrived at ultimatum city-either we have the demo done by February or I'm forming a new band. Thanks to all Tyler's hard work I can now take the bass player with me (and he's totally on board-wants a gig as well).
-The year I actually start taking my songwriting seriously and finish some. And not just the crappy time-wasting SCA junk.
Tyler and I talked last night and he's really helped me straighten a few things out in my own head. I had been thinking about doing the Dominguez recording-tech program, but once again I think that's my way of taking the safe way out. I don't really have any interest in the tech side of it, other than what I'll learn on my own when we finish the studio. I'm most interested in the creative side. The side with all the risk. Ooooooo, scary...
Let's go 2006!

You produce very high-quality time-wasting SCA junk! On the other hand, I'd love to hear what you come up with for the real world.
I just went through a similar head-trip about facing the fear of doing what I really want to do. For me the training I just got is a big help both technically and on the business end of learning more about the industry. I'm guessing you already know that stuff as it applies to music.
You and Tyler together make a formidable team. I can't wait to hear what you do!
